Stay Casual on Console or make the move to PC?

I have been playing on PS for as long as they have been around. I currently use a PS Pro but I have noticed a serious difference in the graphics quality and frame rate of PC games. Would the transition to PC gaming be easy? I could even use a PS4 controller on most games...

The other issue is cost...do I want to spend the money for a decent gaming PC? I would hate to buy an entry level pre built system to only need to upgrade within a year or two. An entry level desktop is about $700 where a really nice custom system would be about $1200.

Another major issue is the competition on PC...I am a very casual gamer...I am just above average (for a 40 something year old), which isn't saying much. If I am playing with these hardcore PC gamers I will die and lose more than I do now on PS4!

Probably the largest issue is who I play with...gaming for me over the past several years has been as much about community as it is about playing the game. Most of my friends now are on Playstation...some games like the one I play now (Fortnite) have "cross platform" ability...so I can play on PC while my friends are on console.

Oh well it's just a thought for now...I'm sure I'll revisit this soon
